Well done Chalkhill for putting on a wonderful Christmas performance today! You were all super stars! π
On Friday we chose lots of lovely gifts for our friends and families at the Secret Shop. Thank you to all the kind elves who helped us – it was magical! β¨
Thank you to everyone who was able to stay and do maths with us this week. We loved sharing our learning with you! π
We had some surprises in our art lesson this week as we explored mixing paint! Check out our colour wheels below – ask us how we made orange, purple and green π§‘ππ
We have been learning about the primary colours by creating art in the style of the artist Mondrian – see if we can tell you about the colours, lines and shapes we noticed in his work.
Can you spot the real Mondrian in our gallery?
We followed the instructions in one of our guided reading texts this week to make paper aeroplanes. They were brilliant!
This week we have started phase 5 which introduces new ways to write some of the sounds we have already learnt. These are the new ones for this week. See if your child can tell you what sounds they make!
Can they write them down, remember any of the new words with this grapheme in it or remember the other grapheme we already know eg. ee/ea.
The children enjoyed showing off their decorated bikes and scooters. We watched the other classes parade their creation around the playground and then we had a turn!
Well done to Torben and April for winning a prize
The last few weeks we have been reading the books Not and stick and Not a box. We have used our imaginations to pretend and thought of some great things our boxes could be. We made our sticks into wands and imagined what spells they could do.
