Remembrance Day and phonics

This week we have been thinking about Remembrance Day and all the brave soldiers. Here is a short film that we watched to help us understand why we wear poppies around this time:

We also painted our own poppies, joined in with the 2 minute silence at 11 o’clock and even had poppy-shaped biscuits for dessert with our school lunches!

Our new sounds this week are v, w, x and y. You can watch the video below to see some of the activities and games we have been playing in school. We’re so impressed with all the super practice you are doing at home, the children are getting so confident! πŸ™‚

  1. Our little one loved his poppy he had painted and was very proud to show us! He told us all about the short film he had watched and about the brave soldiers who were fighting to “keep other people safe”. Thank you
